Automated Watering System

---

Small Arduino project concerning watering of plants while the owner is on vacation. It measures the moisture in the soil and checks if it is about a defined threshold. If the moisture level is above the threshold, it measures 10 more times and checks if the mean is over the threshold along with the standard deviation is not too big. If its conditions is meet, it gives the plant water with a peristaltic pump.

Rasp-Radio

You like vintage radios and other electronics, but do not want to buy modern electronics imitating vintage systems? This is how this project started!

An old malfunction radio from the 1950s by Herofon was given to me by my grandfather as a gift for this use-case. Initially, the speaker was tested to see if the speaker was functional, which it was. Thereafter the most unnecessarily internal was stripped in order to increase internal capacity. The turn-switches was investigated to see how and if they worked. The volume nut was both a potentiometer (for volume) and a switch (for power). A second nut was used for changing the radio stations.

The primary hardware was a Raspberry Pi 3, USB microphone and an amplifier. The program to control it all was created in Python on utilised the command line tool MPC to control the different stations. Furthermore, Google Assistant SDK was used such that the radio also works as a Google Home speaker.

"Remote Surgery" was the title of the 4th-semester project. With the context of remote surgery, it was investigated how to use supervised machine learning with EMG signals from the forearm, to predict what hand gestures the user performed. All of the calculations were done in MATLAB.

5th Semester

My P5 project had the title Autonomous Industrial Mobile Manipulator in Smart Production. It focused on building a new AIMM for Aalborg University's Little Helper family, namely Littler Helper 6. It was built by off-the-shelf products and were combined by a software developed by Aalborg University called Skill Based System. It was tested out in the context of solving a part-feeding challenge at an Industry 4.0 production facility produced by FESTO. Besides the standard project, the works were also released as a scientific article in Elsevier's Procedia Manufacturing.

Bachelor Project

My Bachelor project had the title Special Priority Order in an Industry 4.0 Facility with Little Helper 6. The project focused on continued development of Little Helper 6 and its integration with the University's Industry 4.0 facility, FESTO CP Factory. A vision system was added to Little Helper 6 to enable it to find and pick up different smartphone covers. Little Helper 6 were also fully integrated into FESTO's CP Factory MES system.

7th semester

The first project on of the Master degree in Manufacturing Technology was carried out with the Danish pump manufacturer Grundfos. The topic of the project was Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, IIoT, The Cloud and Machine Learning. The project was to investigate the need and use for a Cloud Solution along with the possibility of predicting the quality of a product from the production with a Recurrent neural network. Because of an NDA with Grundfos, the project is not released to the public.

8th Semester

This semester focused on the use case of data in a heavy duty environment, more specifically data collections and usage in the case of autonomous mobile platforms and AGVs. The project was carried out with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and used a MiR100 mobile platform as the AGV. Subjects for the project was safety, Development of collections, development of a black box (to investigate accidents) and testing in a real-world environment. Due to NDA with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, the project is not released to the public.

A small program for Windows monitoring GPU temperature, clocks and other measurements and GPU information. It utilises NVIDIA System Management Interface (nvidia-smi) and NVMI to gather information. It is made for NVIDIA Tesla™, GRID™, Quadro™ and Titan X products, but may work for other NVIDIA product lines as well. Currently, the program is only tested on a Quadro M1000M.
